Conceptions of Connectivity: How Swiss Teachers, Trainers and Apprentices Perceive Vocational Learning and Teaching Across Different Learning

The Module 1 assignment offers you an opportunity to reflect upon concepts and key ideas which you
studied in the first three course units. The aims of the assignment are:
to clearly articulate your aims and values related to education and how these translate into the broader
school and more specific classroom contexts;
to show originality in the explanation of an ideal classroom and ideal school and their underlying
principles, justifying your ideas with thoughtful and critical arguments;
to show that you have understood the practical applicability of theoretical ideas in the background
reading and to reference accurately this material when you use it in support of your judgements and
arguments.

Select the particular aspect(s) of the module which you find interesting and would like to develop
further. Do not try to cover everything in the module. Think about ways in which you could bring these
aspects together in your ideal classroom/ideal school.
Read extensively around your chosen area so that you can make confident decisions about planning
the assignment.
Clarify the aim(s).
Decide on a subtitle which represents the particular aspects that you will be writing about in the
assignment.
Develop your vision or central theme(s).
